The Virginia Space Flight Academy is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to inspire and empower the next generation of scientists, engineers, and technicians through a week-long summer, residential space adventure camp for ages 11 - 16. Virginia Space Flight Academy’s unique location near NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility, the Navy’s Surface Combat System Center, and a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) facility provide a dynamic backdrop for the camp experience. Through partnerships with these agencies, field trips are built into the camp experience which provides students a unique opportunity to meet and learn from experts. Campers meet engineers and pilots, tour launch pads and rocket integration facilities, and go behind the scenes at Range Control Center.
