Director of Community Outreach Eastern Shore of Virginia Chamber of Commerce 19056 Parkway, Melfa, Va Job Summary: The Eastern Shore of Virginia Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dynamic and motivated Director of Community Outreach to join our team. This key role involves acquiring sponsorships for Chamber events and selling advertisements for our Essentials Magazine and Business Directory. The ideal candidate will possess strong sale skills, a passion for community engagement, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with local businesses and organizations. Key Responsibilities: · Sponsorship Acquisition: Identify and secure sponsorships for a variety of Chamber events, including networking and Chamber events. Develop and implement strategies to attract new sponsors and retain existing ones. · Advertisement Sales: Sell advertising space for the Chamber’s Essentials Magazine and Business Directory. Create compelling sales pitches and presentations tailored to potential advertisers’ needs. · Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, community leaders, and other stakeholders. Serve as a key liaison between the Chamber and the community, ensuring that the Chamber’s activities and initiatives are well-supported. · Event Participation: Actively participate in Chamber events, representing the organization and fostering positive relationships with attendees. Provide support in the planning and execution of events as needed. · Reporting and Analysis: Track and report on sponsorship and advertising sales performance. Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for growth and adjust strategies accordingly. Qualifications: · Proven experience in sales, marketing, or a related field, with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding targets. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships. · Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. · Ability to work independently and as a part of a team. · Familiarity with the Eastern Shore of Virginia community and local businesses is a plus. · Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software. Education: · A bachelor's degree in business marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred but not required.
