Optical shop here on the eastern shore. I fabricate prescription eyewear. The shop is similar to other retail optical stores that you've seen. I keep the lab and shop a little more country, there is sometimes a dog sitting next to me, a radio in the background and chickens out back. I have over 800 eyeglass frames on display at last count but I'll cut lenses into your frame as well. I don't take insurance but my prices are probably less than your co-pay if you have vision insurance. If you can't make it to me, I can come to you within a reasonable distance. I am a member of The Lions Club as well, I donate my time and materials to help people who are having budget issues. I have a half dozen people at any given time who are making payments to me or have promised to pay when their situation improves. Everyone needs to see, we'll worry about the money 2nd. All lenses are polycarbonate with anti reflective coating. I stock single vision lenses but progressive lenses take 5-7 working days to get. Computer glasses, driving glasses, reading glasses, I can usually cut while you wait.

Onancock means "foggy place" in Algonquin, the language of the people who lived and traded on this land since the 1200s.

Here in this historic site on the mouth of the often misty Onancock Creek, we at Foggy Place Cafe offer life's essentials: the best Eastern Shore Coastal Roasting Company coffee, delicious and authentic Mexican-Italian-American fusion food, Shore-inspired art, handmade gifts, local products, books, and a cozy, welcoming spot to connect or just be. For the dog lovers among us, bring your own furry-footed friend, or say hello to one of our resident foggy doggies.

Whether you're a local or a visitor, you will receive a warm welcome here. Whether you're a coffee connoisseur or a what-is-a-latte newbie, we will gladly make you the perfect pick-me-up to fuel all of your Onancock and Eastern Shore adventures.

Grant’s Grinds was founded in 2022 by Grant Davidson, a young man with a vision. He has unique and different abilities but strives to thrive despite his obstacles.
Grant has spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy from a birth injury, epilepsy and is legally blind. He uses a motorized wheelchair and a wide range of specialty equipment to navigate life, but doesn’t let that slow him down! Instead, Grant believes in facing challenges head on, and from this determination Grant’s Grinds was born.
Grant has been challenged to identify a career path where he could function in a trade or obtain a job as a young adult. As part of his Individualized education program (IEP) in school, Grant incorporated his business as his long-term vocational goal, recognizing that Grant’s Grinds would give him the opportunity to work from home and interact with people in his community.
